Cortona is where ' Under the Tuscan Sun ' was filmed, this lovely bright and charming apartment is available throughout the year.
This property is perfect for a short vacation rental as it has a minimum stay of 4 nights, although it is also an excellent and an excellent base from which to tour Tuscany and neighboring Umbria.
The accommodation is for up to six guests. The property is separated by the courtyard into two apartments. The larger has a large comfortable and bright en-suite bedroom overlooking the courtyard, a large sitting room with sofa bed, along with a fully fitted kitchen (including dishwasher and laundry) . The adjacent apartment is air conditioned and offers a beautifully appointed bedroom with either twin or double beds along with bathroom and, a useful kitchen with access to the courtyard. Many guests use this for preparing meals to enjoy in the large courtyard.
Around Cortona there are many fabulous restaurants and bars where you can enjoy various cuisines and, the many wines of Tuscany (and Italy). During Spring and summer, the town hosts many cultural events from food to opera and much more.
A short stroll is ancient and beautiful monastery of La Celle associated with Saint Frances of Assisi, and, within a hours drive, you find some of the loveliest and Tuscan towns including Pienza, Montepulciano, Montalcino, Arezzo, Castiglion Fiorenitno and, in Umbria, a visit to Assisi and the Lake of Tresimeno are well worth a visit.
Transport links here are excellent. There are local buses and, the train stations serve both Florence and Rome.
